Dear association member,

It is with deep regret that I have to inform you of the death of Mr John Holland, he died at home from a heart attack. John was born on the 20th 02 1944, he served with the Troop from August 1961 to August 1970 as groom to Sgt Ben Jones he also worked in the officers Mess, he was a batman to Capt Templer. John was the life and soul of any party always cracking joke and loved a good sing song, John was very proud to have served with the Troop a great story teller of his time in Troop very popular with those he served with which continued into his civilian life. His wife Doreen has been amazed by all the cards and telephone calls she has received since his death from so many people who knew him and the memories they have related to her about him. John’s funeral will take place on Friday 25th May 2018 at Our lady Carmel Roman catholic church. Tanner Street. Faversham ME13 7JW at 1100 hrs followed by the burial at Sittingbourne cemetery at 1300 hrs, followed by a wake in the Swan Teynham. Our thoughts and prayers go out the Doreen and all of his family at this very sad time

On Saturday the 2nd June we have our reunion in London the Salute will be fired in Green Park. The Troop are on Horse Guards for a full dress rehearsal for the for Trooping the Colour for the Queen’s Birthday parade so once you arrive in Green Park Constitution Hill there will be a lot going so there will plenty to see, not sure of the exact time for the salute to be fired but it will be after the Troop have filed past the palace before entering G/Park.

The date for our AGM has been changed to Wednesday 3rd October scheduled to start at 1400 hrs, in the Sgt’s Mess Woolwich. If you intend to attend would you please let the Treasurer know, your details, also the make, model, colour and Registration of your car? Please let him know by the 12th September 2018 he has to let the RSM have these details for the Guard Room for security purposes and also allow you entry into the camp. I hope to see you at either of these events
